U.S. Virgin Islands The U.S. Virgin Islands Commemorates the XIX Olympic Winter Games in Salt Lake City, Utah in 2002 by Issuing a Limited Edition License Plate to Benefit Athletes of the Virgin Islands Olympic Team This is the fourth in a series of OFFICIAL, Legal Olympic license plates, issued by the Government of the Virgin Islands, celebrating the XIX Olympic Winter Games in Salt Lake City, Utah. The Virgin Islands Olympic Team, in cooperation with both the Virgin Islands Motor Vehicle Bureau and Motor Vehicle License Systems, official Team Sponsor, is authorized to produce only 999 limited edition numbered plates beginning with number I and ending with number 999. Motor Vehicle License Systems is proud to offer these beautiful numbered license plates for $50.00. Personalized plates are also available for $65.00. Shipping and handling charges are additional. Plate numbers will be assigned on a first come, first served basis or by priority number of the previous issue. Each number will be issued only once. No duplicate numbers will be issued. All proceeds will directly benefit the Virgin Islands Olympic Team as it prepares for the 2002 Olympic Winter Games in Salt Lake City, Utah. Duplicate numbers will not be issued. Personalized plates are now available with up to four letters and or numbers. These Olympic Winter Games license plates, issued by the Government of the Virgin Islands, are made of heavy gauge aluminum, produced in full Olympic colors, as pictured above, on a fully reflective background.
